The Jeweled Warrior

110 Pottstown Pike, Chester Springs

artwork can be purchased online at www.thejeweledwarrior.com

Above “Sophia Sees”, 12” x 48”, mixed media

She appears out of the swirling wildness with eyes wide open. I named her after the Goddess of wisdom…as wisdom only comes from having been through a wild thing or two…or three…and on & on. Her sister piece “Eve Sleeps” found a new home at the opening. Maybe “Sophia Sees” is waiting for you.

Above “Eclipse of the Womb”, 24” x 36”

I have not shared this piece in a while. It was a piece that began many many years ago but I reworked it several times. The very last time was after I had a miscarriage. Because of that I had always seen it as darkness blocking the light.

When I was hanging it up for show a young woman who works at the gallery, Sage, looked at it and saw buried treasure…like a pirate ship. I’m so grateful to Sage for sharing her imagination. Some how I think I’m folding in her narrative into the story of this painting. “Eclipse” is available online but I highly recommend going to see it in person. It has gold oil paint that is hard to capture in a photo. It also looks stunning hanging from the drift wood in the gallery…also I couldn’t get that in the photo because I was trying to show you Kristin Bispels beautiful Fairy Love Cups!!!

Above “Sapphire: Soul Mandala”, 8” x 8”, encaustic

I was so overwhelmed with the support for my Mandala Mala Project. At the opening $800 was raised for Endowhat? Only one mandala is left in the gallery…your $250 donation will make “Sapphire: Soul Mandala” yours to keep and make a big difference for advocacy and awareness of endometriosis!

more about it on the gram

Thank You!!!! to Everyone who came to the opening. So so many beautiful faces & conversations!

You make my world spin when you take a piece of my art into your world!!!

ps…If I sell one more of the big artwork before the show is over….I’m going to splurge & snag this Crow Pitcher and Goblet Set to treat myself because you know I love crows. Unless you beat me to it.

Mandalas At The Jeweled Warrior

Siobhan BedfordComment

Some of you already know...I’ve been working on my "Mandala Mala Project" for many years now.

If you don't know about it...I’m endeavoring to make 108 mandalas. I don’t sell them in the traditional sense. I give them away in exchange for “random acts/tasks” of kindness.

I like to think of it as a "pay it forward" project. A way for my art to be a catalyst for positive change. It's been a labor of love to get this far...with more stumbles along the way than I ever imagined at the beginning. Yet...I have not given up. I'm slowly getting closer to this goal.

100% of the Mandalas sales at The Jeweled Warrior will benefit an organization called EndoWhat?

It's an organization that works to raise awareness & education about this complicated and often misunderstood disease.

Although I don't have endometriosis...I've had my own painful & complicated journey that began in my teens, involved miscarriage and ended with a hysterectomy.

I truly know how difficult it can be to get clear and helpful information about things that can & do go wrong in our bodies. How intense these things can be both physically and emotionally.

How our culture of silence, misunderstanding, and shame surrounds anything having to do with menstruation. How it can cut into our souls and make healing hard to find. I honestly believe this is beginning to transform and I'm so passionate about keeping that going.

These Mandalas will benefit EndoWhat? But in my mind, they are really for anyone struggling with their own "Darkstar" journey. It's so common...that I'm sure you are or you love someone who is going through this kind of pain. I hope you hold them in your heart and come to The Jeweled Warrior between July 7 and August 6th to become part of the Mandala Mala Project.

July 7th - August 6th

Be helpless, dumbfounded,
Unable to say yes or no.
Then a stretcher will come from grace
To gather us up.

We are too dull-eyed to see that beauty
If we say we can, we’re lying.
If we say No, we don’t see it,
That No will behead us
And shut tight our window onto spirit.

So let us rather not be sure of anything,
Besides ourselves, and only that, so
Miraculous beings come running to help.
Crazed, lying in a zero circle, mute,
We shall be saying finally,
With tremendous eloquence, Lead us.
When we have totally surrendered to that beauty,
We shall be a mighty kindness.

2023 County Collector Mini

It’s only $90!

Every year the artists on the Chester County Open Studio Tour create a special “mini” piece of art exclusive for the tour. It’s only $90! The idea is to make original art collecting available to anyone & everyone!

It goes on sale Saturday morning May 20th.

This year I’m sharing a mini Lacuna piece with copper detailing on the frame. It’s called “Ripple” and it can be hung on a wall or viewed from both sides…as it plays with the light.

I’m studio #7 in Phoenixville…148 4th Ave.

I hope to see your smiling face when I open the door at 10 am✨

Find magic in the little things, and the big things you always expected will start to show up.

Pop Up at Collabery Art Gallery

I’ll be the feature artist for May at Collabery Art Gallery.

Collabery Art Gallery is a Pop Up art space in downtown Phoenixville celebrating local creatives. I like to think of it as a “secret gem” hidden below a historic building. It’s actually super easy to find behind Paloma’s restaurant.

I’m excited to be showing an eclectic mix of pieces…plus I’ll have The Chester County Studio Tour catalogs available for you to pick up.
