Art making is a bit mysterious.
I can tell you it starts with a pulse of energy, like what you might feel running through your body during an intense emotional experience. I work in layers, and it can take me more than a year to finish a piece.
I always have the sense that a completed work belongs more to the world than to me. I get great meaning when one of my paintings becomes part of someone else’s world.
I live in the heart of Phoenixville, PA with the love of my life in a little old house we are always fixing up. If I’m not painting, I’m digging in the dirt trying to keep something blooming in every season.
In 1995, I earned a BFA, Illustration and Painting from Marywood College, Scranton, PA. In 2013, I completed a 200HR Yoga Teaching Certification with The Living Mandala School of Yoga, Phoenixville, PA. I’m forever a student of what life keeps offering me.
