Art making is a bit mysterious.
I can tell you it starts with a pulse of energy, like what you might feel running though your body during an intense emotional experience. I work in many, many layers, and it can take me more than a year to finish a piece.
I always have the sense that a completed work belongs more to the world than to me. I get great meaning when one of my paintings becomes part of someone else’s world.
I live in the heart of Phoenixville, PA with the love of my life in a little old house we are always fixing up. If I’m not painting, I’m digging in the dirt trying to keep something blooming in every season.
Oh yes, way back in 1995, I earned a BFA, Illustration and Painting from Marywood College, Scranton, PA. In 2013, I completed a 200HR Yoga Teaching Certification with The Living Mandala School of Yoga, Phoenixville, PA. I don’t teach, but I’m forever a student of what life keeps offering me.
